Patrick Chavis is the creator, designer, podcast/writer and head editor at LA Theatre Bites and The Orange Curtain Review. Starting in 2014 and only covering the Orange County, CA area in 2016 he expanded his reviews to the Los Angeles area with LA Theatre Bites. Because of the massive size of the Los Angeles area and it’s large theatre presence. Patrick decided to create short review podcasts instead of the traditional written review he was writing in the OC.

Cake tries to find understanding between two types of people and often succeeds in humanizing both sides in a very difficult topic for some to discuss.

Bone Woman

The actress is talented playing many different characters. Still, It’s hard to pin down exactly what the plot is and the show takes almost an hour to get its point across. The promotional material makes it seem creepy or horrific in some way but it’s incredibly tame.

TURBULENCE!

The songs are catchy, they stay in your mind, and I’m still randomly thinking Turbulence, Turbulence, after the show. It’s a fun show, throw on your space romper and get ready for a shaky ride.

The Amitycode

The story is predictable in a way because the writer doesn’t back away from some usual dramatic choices. Still, I could not predict the end of this show and they end it on a brave note.

Fire & Light

This show felt like I was walking into a Terrence Malick Film, except this was better. The immersive experience fills in the blanks and the powerful visuals are seared into your mind.
