Registered Critic: Patrick Chavis - LA Theatre Bites

Patrick Chavis is the creator, designer, podcast/writer and head editor at LA Theatre Bites and The Orange Curtain Review. Starting in 2014 and only covering the Orange County, CA area in 2016 he expanded his reviews to the Los Angeles area with LA Theatre Bites. Because of the massive size of the Los Angeles area and it’s large theatre presence. Patrick decided to create short review podcasts instead of the traditional written review he was writing in the OC.

Grail Project

There's some really good music and singing. The movement is interesting because of how weird and silly it is.

Telenovela

It's a very simple story with tons of betrayal but the rapid-fire pace of the twists and turns create a predictably that lacks a comedic punch.

The Niceties

The production provokes thought about, history, debate, race, education and many other topics but the portrait laid out of the modern millennial may limit an even deeper conversation between two very engaging actresses on the Gil Cates Stage.

Les Miz And Friends! A Puppet Parody

While the play makes a lot of really good points about Les Mis, the topical jokes aren't funny enough or varied enough to warrant the length of this production.
