A Complete Waste of Time

A Complete Waste of Time...wasn't! Steve Chang's one man show was funny, touching, experiential, intimate, bawdy, sad and raw. I wanted more! It was as though you were just sitting with a group of friends listening to this writer/Director/Actors accounts of his funny, absurd and at times heart wrenching life.

Laertes Loves Hamlet Loves Ophelia

Oh how I've missed Shakespeare! The writing was impeccable, the acting brilliant with the actors perfectly cast. Their timing was impressive. The set was appropriate and totally resembled a small apartment. The humor and delivery made for a quick matinee and left me wanting more. I can't help but thinking LA casting directors need to attend more theater in Hollywood to find the next great stars of film or tv ascthus cast had ALL of the talents that often film and tv are missing. An absolute joy on a Sunday afternoon!

The Sower

An amazing evening of living with Van Gogh and Gaugin! Schuyler Mastain has written a masterpiece to coin an art term! Ryan Henry's direction was flawless. The costumes appropriate and the set dressing perfectly spare for an 1800's hospital. The cast: Kayla Eva's patience and beauty was surreal. Nicholas McDonald as the doctor was appropriately professional. Cam Deaver as Theo Van Gogh was loving and brotherly and Isaak Gracia was a breath of fresh air as Gaugin! An outstanding evening of theater on a theme of Van Gogh's important sower works! Broadway here it comes!

The Oz Monologues

Had no idea what to expect and I was entirely brought into the Land of Oz! The colorful projections were state of the art. The costumes and make up perfection. The witches were my favorites along with sexy Dorothy. The Scare Crow has no bones! An amazing portrayal! The flying monkey stole the show! A very ambitious and well done evening of theater!

New Kid on the Block

This play needs to be filmed as a three camera sit com! Brilliant Characters and Writing. Amazing Actors. The play starts as the audience is loading in, fantastic planning. The bucket joke was a surprise! Touching moments as well as the laugh out loud humor.

STILL

Amazing words! Amazing cast. Superb lighting and set design. Breathtaking in its rawness. Highly recommended. Plus the South African accents are easy on the ears! A wonderful theater experience for the first night of Fringe.
