A Bit Much

Wow! I am in awe. A bit much? I think Stacy is just right. This hilarious performance, Stacy's comic chops as well as her many other talents, artistic and otherwise, are there for us to see. I really enjoyed this and I think I learned a thing or two as well. There's nothing better than that.

HOLLYWOODN'T

Also having come to Hollywood as a young woman alone, I can completely identify with Lisa's take on what happens when a naive aspiring thespian comes to the big city. But what really got me was her being so real about feelings young girls have about their bodies and sex. Barbie and Ken and Skipper. Yes indeed. I don't want to spoil anything, but she should get an award for her original video montage.

Leaving Prince Charming

Lara charmed the audience with her sincere look at a very challenging time in her life and treated us to a show full of interesting and evocative characters as well as fearless physical comedy. Telling her individual story she touched on much bigger issues that anyone can relate to.

Forgetting not Forgotten

This work is important. Petal took her life experiences dealing with her mother's illness and having to deal with losing her home and moving repeatedly in her efforts to care for her. Petal used her body, her voice, her poetry and her words to create an inspirational piece. Kudos.

FERTILE: A Conversation About the Expectation of Procreation

So so sweet! Once again Heather has knocked one out of the park in this touching, funny and very informative, I must say, solo show about a couple's struggle with becoming parents. Heather's characterizations of the couple, her friends and the medical, and dare I say spiritual advisors, were spot on. Heather also was brutally honest, not fearing to say or explore the things we often don't want to say out loud. My highest recommendation.
