Shattered

I truly cannot say enough positive things to accurately express my awe of this piece. It is a MUST SEE for Fringe! Do not hesitate! Buy your tickets now! This show is in a word; Amazing. Simply put, it's one of the best shows I've seen at Fringe and one of the greatest examples of solo performance I've ever seen! Diana is so powerful in her performance that I was riveted from the start. Her ability to clearly define each of her characters is outstanding and I marveled at her specificity with each one. They are all fully developed characters and she moves effortlessly from one into the other. Her story is heartbreaking and honest, yet powerful and uplifting. She deftly leads her audience through the journey with her and ultimately delivers such an empowered ending that everyone leaps to their feet in awe. I cannot say enough about this piece. See it!

Herpes: A Love Story

Cherise is a powerhouse of energy and creativity! She owns the space from the first moment she walks on stage and keeps the audience on the edge of their seats, hungry for her next word. She is funny and intelligent and lights up the room with a mega-watt smile. Her bravery and honesty are breathtaking and she is fearless in her ability to face difficult realities and share them with us in an unapologetic way.

Ladies in Waiting: The Judgement of Henry VIII

The show is extremely well-researched and will sit well with anyone who is well-versed in the history and many idiosyncrasies of Henry VIII. However, someone with even a casual understanding of the great king and his six unfortunate wives will be drawn in immediately. The performances are effortless and engaging. The skill of the performers and training is obvious and the message is powerful! I loved it and if I wasn't already booked up, I'd go back for a second helping.

The Magic School Bus: A Traumedy

A fun, energetic, creative, delightful and honest way to explore the physical toll trauma has on the body told by a charming and effervescent school teacher and her less-exuberant, but no less entertaining, students! (Plus some pretty awesome singing!). Bonnie is engaging, delightful and truly fun to watch! The concept is a terrific one; a unique and surprisingly uplifting way to address trauma.

Dreams in Overdrive

Jon is energetic, engaging and powerful in his commitment on stage. His story is accessible and heartfelt. He has cleverly woven moments of his personal life into a more universal conversation about depression and self-esteem. And offers a largely humorous, and always honest, opportunity to start a dialogue about stigmas and pressures assigned to depression and self-worth. In short, an engaging hour of self exploration in an ultimately universal search for self worth and purpose in our lives.

Fresh, fun and delightful. The performances are genuine and effervescent. After going, I felt like I'd had two glasses of pink champagne. Sharon M. and Kara C. have done a great job creating something fun and joyful. Well done!

HOUSE of ME

Christian is a powerhouse of energy and charisma from the first moment he enters the stage. His mastery of language and word play is dynamite as he weaves his tale – part drama, part comedy, part performance art – into a cohesive acid trip of theatrical delight. He's engaging and authentic and his story is both heartbreaking and life-affirming, with just enough cheek to highlight the depths of what is going on in the basement of his “house”.

October Baby

Powerful. Brilliant. Beautiful. Heartfelt. Honest. Funny. Brooke. I knew going into the performance that it was going to be a powerhouse of intelligence, wit and humor. I wasn't expecting the equally powerful moments of heartfelt reality as Brooke shares the unique ups and downs of this part of her life. I was moved deeply and filled with gratitude at the impact of her message and of her fearlessness at sharing that message with the audience.
