Give Up the Ghost

While their previous show One Last Thing Before I Go is still arguably one of my favorite immersive shows in recent years, GIVE UP THE GHOST loses the charm and thematic impact that its predecessor had. Don’t get me wrong. There’s still a lot good to be found in the show itself, but the unevenness of the vignettes, the onboarding process, and the confusion as to what tone the team was trying to go for brings down this ambitious project.

The Witnessing

Overall, THE WITNESSING is a good show to introduce theatre goers new to the immersive scene. The lecture format provides newbies with that feeling of watching a show without heavy interactivity, which I feel is a good baby step option. THE STUDY

Overall, I greatly enjoyed the show. THE STUDY gave the audience an opportunity to play out different scenarios when confronted with a fight or flight scenario. The combination of acting, fighting choreography, and the audience's voting interaction kept the show fun and interesting enough to make me want to come back and try again. I highly recommend seeing this show.

Brandon Nicholas Pfeltz's THE MIDNIGHT MENAGERIE is a naughty, satirical romp that tackles the worst components of Hollywood while also exploring the ugly side of humanity. It's not something that everyone can enjoy, but if you're willing to embrace the absurd and the cynical, this is the show for you.

One Last Thing Before You Go

I would have to say that ONE LAST THING BEFORE YOU GO is easily my favorite production at this year's Hollywood Fringe Fest. Aaron Vanek and Kirsten Hageleit have created a beautiful, memorable piece that stands out among the pack. The performances from Shoshanna Green, Pip Lilly, and Brenda Gutierrez were powerful and still linger in the mind weeks later. I honestly can't wait to see what the creators have in store for future productions.
