The Bogeyman

The result is definitely discomfiting, but for those willing to take the plunge into darkness, The Bogeyman is more fascinating than traumatizing - a mysterious excursion into bizarre realms that turn out to be strangely enjoyable.

Romeo and Juliet in Hell

Although the plot of Romeo and Juliet in Hell sounds like a premise for a wacky five-minute Monty Python sketch, it actually sustains a full-length play thanks to consistently funny dialogue and the unflagging energy of the performers.

Bottom line: Probably the most fun you will ever have in Hell.

Give Up the Ghost

Give Up The Ghost is interactive theatre at its haunting best, inviting "recently dead" audience members to weigh the moral consequences of intervening in the world of the living...

Give Up The Ghost registers so highly on the PKE Meter that it is virtually off the scale. Though not a traditional scare show, the interactive play offers an ethereal voyage into limbo, where the audience become disembodied spirits, spying upon the living.

URBAN DEATH TOUR OF TERROR: Haunted Theatre Attraction!

The maze has always been dreadful (in the literal sense of the word), but now it feels more suspenseful, eliciting not only silent frisson but also audible shrieks, almost like jump-scares...

WICKED LIT: THE CHIMES & THE CORPSE

Reversing the trend, Unbound Productions offers a pared-down version of Wicked Lit for Halloween 2018, with only two plays, no framing story, limited use of the location, and fewer special effects. The result is like watching your favorite musical group abandon the elaborate stage lighting and effects of its stadium tour and return to a small club for a bare-bones performance: the back-to-basics approach is more intimate, eschewing spectacle in favor of emphasizing the music (or in this case, the drama).

Fallen Saints: Dark

Fallen Saints: Darkness does not strive to maintain that level of shuddery horror, opting instead for a creepy sort of revulsion in the face of human malice. Ultimately, the play is less scary than depressing - you're more likely to shed a tear than emit a scream.
