A shack in a swamp. A woman hires two gunslingers to help her defend her home against a mysterious and ravenous beast intent on destroying the human race. Everyone feels the presence of the beast, but no one can prove it's real. Maybe the only way to protect ourselves is to lay our bodies bare on the altar and call forth our worst fears, our biggest regrets, and the baddest evil we can dream up.

This production of Back Bog Beast Bait comes to you from Scavengers, a collective of artists who value the gritty, sensory worlds Sam Shepard spent his life meticulously creating.

"Exceptional performances, sublime live music (the reason I attended), beautiful theater and staging-the only thing that might have made it better is a is a shot of absinthe (although it was pretty absinthe infused)."

"For those of you who lived through the 60's, who loved the 60's and who would like to re-visit them theatrically, or for those of you who may be a bit younger and are tired of hearing your parents yammering on about how great they were, GO SEE Back Bog beast Bate at the Yard Theater, a rather spellbinding production of a rarely seen Sam Shepard play. It's a trip!"

"The cast truly transported me to the Cajun swampland, and the music was haunting and beautiful. A wonderful way to spend 90 minutes on a weekend night!"
