Brett Moore is totally enamored with baseball, and has been for 25 years. In that time, he's memorized more about baseball than anyone with access to the Internet could possibly need to know. Come watch him perform his amazing feats of baseball memory that are unnecessary, stunning, and highly entertaining and wax poetic about his favorite obsession in a unique solo show that connects patrons and the performer through the love of our national pastime!

You don't have to love– or even like–baseball in order to love this show, but it helps. “Batter Up: My Brain on Baseball” is an astonishing display of memory retention like no other. Highly entertaining and charismatic self-defined “baseball savant” Brett Moore not only gives us some somewhat practical knowledge of Baseball Hall of Fame statistical information--for me, it's almost useless--but also presents some really great historical information as well. His extensive knowledge also includes that of the Negro Leagues—the nearly forgotten collective financial savior to Major League Baseball during (and post) wartime years—and he presents all of this in a way that the audience has control of how the information is tapped into (culled?) directly from his brain...Often live-timed to increase the drama, each series of “self-tests” brings harder and increasingly more interesting challenges.

There’s nothing “stupid” about what Brett professes to be his “stupid human trick.” It’s insanely impressive to watch his mind work and his enthusiasm for baseball was infectious.

Take me out to the ballgame, but only if I can go with Brett Moore. The breadth of his knowledge about the game is astonishing, but his passion for the game is even greater. There are games and prizes, but the best part is Brett’s enjoyment in taking you along for an epic ride in his baseball addled brain

So, I could not care less about baseball (not possible) AND I could see this show and have a blast AT LEAST 10 more times! Some of the most fun I’ve had at this year’s HFF! Brett is INCREDIBLE with his ability to bring his SCARY level of knowledge about the game and stats of baseball to the stage – AND in a fun and engaging way for everyone. And his ability to improvise and find the funny inside of every game he plays with the audience shows serious skill with live comedy. It was a lesson in stand-up even as it was loaded with dates, and numbers, and the history of America’s game.

Moore’s Batter Up is an undeniably amusing show that celebrates both a well-loved American pastime and the wonders of the human mind, and it’s completely apolitical… so long as you don’t mind rooting for the Dodgers. - RECOMMENDED

BATTER UP! MY BRAIN ON BASEBALL is spellbinding. Brett's love and passion for America's favorite pass time is infectious, he takes the audience on a ride that inspires them to think differently about the sport we thought we knew. This is without a doubt, one of the finalist examples of a solo show I have ever seen performed.

Thanks to the amazing direction of his director Gregory Crafts and his stage manager and wife, Erin Moore, he brought this magical show to live and delivered a killer performance. I’m a huge baseball fan anyway, so regardless I would have seen this show. But the funny part is that it’s enjoyable whether or not you like baseball. Think of it like the close-up magic you see by the wandering magicians at the Magic Castle.
