Benita Bike’s DanceArt brings live dance into the community with a masked, distanced, limited-attendance outdoor dance show on Saturday, May 1, 10:00am, at Tierra del Sol Foundation Parking Lot, 9919 Sunland Blvd. in Sunland. Free tickets are available by emailing benita@danceart.org with your name and the number in your party. You will receive an email ticket. No walk-ins are allowed. This performance is supported by the California Arts Council and the City of Los Angeles Cultural Affairs Department.

This is the DanceArt Company’s 40th season, and the Company is pleased to share dance in the way it should be seen – LIVE. After introducing modern dance, our dancers will perform various dance works in a lovely tree-lined area. Viewers will be encouraged to ask questions and share thoughts. Benita Bike’s DanceArt knows how to introduce the soul of dance to audiences. This performance features:
- Duet from “Benches” – LA Dance Chronicle states “The story shortly revealed to the audience that strangers can become friends…creating a lovely narrative of friendship.”
- Duet from "In the Garden," a dance where an ancient garden comes to life.
- “On Beat 3” - a trio with driving percussive rhythms and colorful off-balance movements.
- “Entrelazadas” - This dance traces the relationships of three women. The accompaniment is Spanish music by composers Juan del Enzina, Gaspar Sanz, and Joaquin Rodrigo.
