Solo show. A noir poem about a woman decapitated on a train track, and the young female investigator who unravels the tale. And it's a comedy! Sort of. Set in the Midwest, late 1950s. Doesn't rhyme. An hour long. And all eleven characters are performed by the writer. Tickets are free, but space is very limited.

One woman show artfully tells the film noir story of a hard boiled female detective with poetic word play. Piece by piece the twists and turns of the mystery are revealed, and like any great noir tale, the final twist is one you never see coming! The actress deftly moves from character to character, and we always know who is who, and what's happening. An original noir story that stands along side some of the classics!

Julia Newton delivers an engrossing one-person show with this cool spin on Film Noir and hard-boiled fiction! She IS the show. I am in awe of one actor writing, developing and then performing this entire piece. Julia plays dozens of characters here, each one with their own distinctive bent. I really did feel like I was watching an old murder mystery on Turner Classic Movies. She made the setting and ambiance come alive and it was just her sitting at a table — that's pretty amazing.

Julia is a great writer and performer and and this longform poem showcases her talents. I haven't seen another solo show like this, it's unique and refreshing. Simple yet well-crafted and engaging and beautiful. I'm glad I was able to catch this one!

So fun. I raced to keep up with the mystery, the characters, and the surprises, all by one person. Loved it.
