Extremities is a bold, unflinching exploration of the realities of sexual violence. It examines the pathology of rape, societal response to gender-based violence, and the human potential for empathy and compassion.

Performances will be followed by special guest speakers (including Marnie Goodfriend, Chantal Cousineau, and Tina Alexis Allen) to discuss the play and relevance to our times.

SYNOPSIS
Marjorie's roommates are away when a charismatic stranger, Raul, enters her home and attempts to rape her. After Marjorie is able to gain the upper hand, Patricia and Terry arrive home to find Raul bound and gagged in their fireplace, and the three women are forced to negotiate his fate.

"Laura Campbell's performance was a tour de force both physically and emotionally as she tries to navigate the situation that could get her not just sexually abused but even murdered. Her body language, voice intonation, facial expressions and even subtleties such as her breathing as she was being smother with a pillow added to the complexity of emotions a woman would face in this type of live or die situation."

"Extremities is a necessary analysis of the full range of human reactions surrounding trauma and rape culture. Honest communication about how little we've moved forward in the past four decades keeps the material fresh and valuable. Its approach validates survivors dealing with doubt and shame by putting the audience in the witness stand as silent onlookers forced to watch the madness unfold. - RECOMMENDED"
