I'm Too Fat for This Show offers insights into the issues surrounding eating disorders and OCD in a way that no other forum can: Kate Huffman's comedic self-awareness and deeply personal storytelling act as tools to create a safe space for audiences to absorb lessons about neuroscience in the developing brain. Laughter and empathy pave the way for a deeper understanding of the physical and emotional side effects that OCD and body dysmorphia create in children and adults. Humanizing these clinical topics encourages audiences to relate to their own neurosis with more compassion and less fear. “Funny, heartbreaking, and so very relatable in surprising ways.” “Impressive, brave, a tad disturbing, and funny.” “So well-paced, such a perfect mixture of comedy and tragedy. I thought I knew about eating disorders, but I learned a lot.”

Overall, Huffman's honesty is shocking as much as it is fascinating. This is a person's actual life. But there is a childlike quality about her hopes and dreams that makes her so endearing, and the whole live confession palatable enough to empathetically and compassionately, sit with.

Hurry and go see this show before it's too late! Kate Huffman's brave and inspiring one-woman show is an incredibly acted and imaginative exploration of what it is like to live with an eating disorder. Honestly, I have no idea how one can be so utterly hilarious, heartbreaking and uplifting all at the same time. Perfectly paced, with incredible character work throughout, this is seriously THE BEST Hollywood Fringe show I've seen this year.
