5-STAR THEATRICALS is thrilled to announce its return back to the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza after 17 months with the first show of its 2021-2022 season, Kim Huber starring as “Donna Sheridan,” and Emmy award-winning “Days of Our Lives” star Eric Martsolf starring as “Sam Carmichael” in the buoyant and infectious, MAMMA MIA!, music and lyrics by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus and some songs with Stig Anderson, book by Catherine Johnson, originally conceived by Judy Craymer, musical direction by Anthony Lucca, choreography by Stephanie Landwehr and directed by Richard Israel. MAMMA MIA! opens on Friday, October 15, 2021 and runs through Sunday, October 24, 2021 at the 1,800-seat Kavli Theatre at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, 2100 Thousand Oaks Boulevard in Thousand Oaks.

ABOUT THE CREATIVE TEAM AND CAST
RICHARD ISRAEL (Director) is a Los Angeles-based director who specializes in the development of original musicals. He has directed west coast and world premieres at regional theaters all over the United States, including the Ogunquit Playhouse, The O'Neill Theatre Center and the Laguna Playhouse. Notable productions include Violet (LA Stage Alliance Ovation Award for Direction of a Musical), the world premiere musical Home Street Home, Floyd Collins (LA Stage Alliance Ovation Award for Direction and Outstanding Musical), 110 In The Shade (LA Stage Alliance Ovation Award for Outstanding Intimate Musical), West Side Story, Avenue Q and the world premiere of Anita Bryant Died For Your Sins. 5-Star Theatricals productions include Kiss Me Kate and Once Upon a Mattress. Richard directed the award-winning musical short film “Into Light” and was the theatrical coordinator for the Emmy award-winning series “Big Little Lies” directing all of the Avenue Q sequences. He is currently involved in the development of several original musicals including “A Very Brady Musical,” “Rocket Science,” “The Baby Project” and “King Of Pangaea.” He is the proud recipient of the LADCC Career Achievement Award for Directing and is a member of SDC.
STEPHANIE LANDWEHR (Choreographer) is a Los Angeles-based choreographer and esteemed industry professional and performer. Her choreography has made its way to stage, film and television. Stephanie’s choreography for stage has most recently been seen in Brooklyn, The Musical, Carrie, The Musical, Kiss Me Kate, and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying for the Academy of Musical and Dramatic Arts, Los Angeles. Also, in the feature film “Too Late,” in Green Day’s “Last of the American Girls” music video, and commercials for Kmart, The Great, Jello, and Burger King. Stephanie has enjoyed a long and eclectic professional career as a performer, from her first commercial job as the featured dancer in the iconic Gap Swing, bullet-time spot, to dancing on cars in “La, La, Land,” and everything in-between, including a run performing with Cher at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas. She can be seen in movies “The Muppets,” “Gangster Squad,” and “She’s All That”, and television shows including “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend,” “Veep,” “Dancing with the Stars,” and “Penny Dreadful,” and with music artists such as Tina Turner, Panic at the Disco, and Chemical Brothers.

KIM HUBER (Donna Sheridan) Broadway: Disney’s Beauty and The Beast (Belle) and created the role for the 1st National Tour, Sunset Blvd. (starring Glenn Close), and Marie Christine (starring Audra McDonald). Her portrayal of “Nellie Collins” in Floyd Collins throughout the US has earned her Ovation, Jeff, and Barrymore Awards and nominations. Los Angeles Premieres: Having It All (Lizzie) and The Marvelous Wonderettes (Missy), The Spitfire Grill (Shelly) and The Last Five Years (Cathy). Favorites: The King And I (Anna), Big Fish (Sandra), Freaky Friday (Katherine), The Sound Of Music (Maria), My Fair Lady (Eliza), and Chess (Florence). Kim can be heard as the singing voice of “Sleeping Beauty” on Disney Records. Proud mom of Paige and Adam, and member of Actors’ Equity Association.
ERIC MARTSOLF (Sam Carmichael) With over 3500 episodes of television under his belt, Mr. Martsolf has been providing "love in the afternoon" on NBC Daytime for the last 18 years. His portrayals of “Ethan Winthrop” on "Passions" and currently “Brady Black” on "Days of our Lives" have resulted in numerous industry accolades. He made Daytime television history in 2014 by being the first actor ever to win an Emmy in the Best Supporting Actor category for "Days of our Lives." His television credits expand into primetime (“Extant,” “NCIS,” “Rizzoli & Isles”), and his musical theatre repertoire consists of over 40 productions, including his critically acclaimed role as the “Pharaoh” in the Osmond Broadway Tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
Fans of the DC Universe will most notably recognize him as Justice League member and futuristic hero “Booster Gold” from the series “Smallville”.

The Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza Kavli Theatre will require full vaccination of all patrons or proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken no more than 72 hours prior to the performance along with mask requirements for all attendees. Patrons may request a refund on tickets purchased prior to the guidance changes. To maintain a strong guest experience for all patrons, our box office will be processing each refund as it is requested.
