In one of the cleverest twists I have seen at Fringe this year, this goofy, endearing comedy treats you to a silly premise that turns into a wonderful message about living life to the fullest.

Thoroughly enjoyable! Sweet and geeky, full of humor and heart. Go see this one! The cast was lovable and had great chemistry together. A humorous and ultimately bittersweet tale with plenty of geek cred. Every member of this talented ensemble got their moment to shine.

I have never played Dungeons and Dragons or seen/read any of the Harry Potter books or movies. Perhaps I would have appreciated the humor of this play a bit more if I had since many audience members were laughing hysterically at the references I did not understand. This fantasy play about four friends forced into the woods to search and destroy a monster called the Infector in order to protect the world from the disease it brings, was fun to watch, with an animated backdrop that rolled into position to different woodsy locations. One of the campers discovers a trunk in which are the weapons of protection they will use to fight the Infector. Thees include a shield, sword, lute, magic walking stick, each containing magical powers. With Strongheart and Filimore leading their way, the four learn to work together and save themselves and their friendship along the way. The production values were in line for Fringe, but need to be improved for a longer run elsewhere.

A very funny, and fun play about four people who go camping and end up in a sort of live action Dungeons and Dragons game. The play was amusing and entertaining enough on its own, but the fact the plot is ultimately grounded in real life topics like disease, loss, and how we deal with it gives the show a real depth as well.

If you're looking for a fun show with some heart to it, this is it. As a D&D fan, I enjoyed all of the references and inside jokes that only a D&D player would get. But not to worry, if you are not familiar with the game, you won't be lost. Characters are layered and interesting. The acting was alright, and as the show went on every actor and actress had strong moments that won me over. Also Nicoletta Brunelli's performance was consistently compelling. Overall, this is a fun and touching play and a GOOD story.

So don't throw me in a locker or nothin', but I was a D&D kid. Sue me, I wasn't yet the shining star I am today, so what? I hoped to find similar kids in this show. People who loved it. Who lived it. Who knew it. And a script that got it. Sad face. About 75% of what I wanted was there (like most dates, right?) It wasn't a bad show. It was a pretty good show, I guess. It just wasn't dancing on the ceiling. And it ain't the cast, cuz they were shiny. Especially the ladies. Strong ladies, smart ladies, bring on the X-X army! Loved it. It was the script. It loved the idea of D&D more than it loved D&D. It wanted to be an orgasm of retrograde memories and instead it was a night after too much drinking. All desire, only partial followthrough. If you've got time, it's got moments. But if you have other ideas first, get to them. Then swing back for this show. 'Cause it's definitely game to try.

WHAT I LIKED I was pleasantly surprised to find humor, action and drama all wrapped into a fun ride of a show. Highly recommend WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE I loved it, having hard time trying to find a flaw! MY OVERALL IMPRESSION Friends embark on a camping trip that turns into an adventure full of mystery, strange characters, humor and fantastic creatures. There's another layer to Survival Check that's quite unexpected and very moving.

This show was so much fun! 4 friends end up on an adventure they never would have imagined. Besides the fantasy/DND element, the show was very much about love and relationships. Love for old friends, new friends, and the deep rooted love for family. The different plot lines were nicely layered and interwoven within the entire show. Funny and silly as you would expect, with serious personal relationships expressed throughout. I'd highly recommend!
