I had a great time watching Sylus 2020!
I was a bit thrown at the introduction of the puppets character at first, but the seamless interaction between the two quickly gave the character its own footing, presents and gravity.
I also wasn't prepared for there to be audience participation to interject suggestions at specific moments throughout the show, but after the first iteration of it I was on board for that aspect as well, and game to participate.
Clearly I had no idea what kind of a show I was walking into, but I was blown away by the driving force with which Jeff commands his show with, his seamless ability to incorporate audience proffered suggestions into pillars of his platform and personal influence, and his high energy locomotive drive and commitment.
Very enjoyable!

"Sylus 2020" is a hoot. And a much needed antidote to our crazy political times. It was since to be able to sit back and enthusiastically cheer for a candidate. If only I could actually vote for him in 2020!

Using a mix of impressive improv with the audience and biting satirical genius, Jeff Ahern's Sylus Rothchild makes comic gold out of politicians who will literally promise anything to become president! Timely and absolutely hilarious!

For just over 30 minutes, you can enjoy one of the best comedians cracking up the audience with a relaxed, brilliant show that reminds us just how great improv and sketch comedy have been for so long. Bring your friends and enjoy the laughs!

Jeff Ahern (and his character Sylus Rothchild) is a comedic gem. His improv skills are beyond measure and serve his show Sylus 2020 in ways that make his show immediate, fun, and different from other solo shows and stand up that's happening around town. Despite its lightheartedness, Sylus 2020 has got some depth, too, which I appreciate. To be honest, I've seen the show several times and it's never the same twice. If you want to see a perceptive, smart, inventive performer, this is the show. Who knows? I might even go again, as I'm sure it will only rev up the closer it gets to election time!

A hilarious, semi-improvised show about a man pandering to whomever he has to to get elected. Jeff Ahern crafts a ridiculous, but plausible candidate who is just trying to do good. This current production has added more wrinkles to the campaign, and the audience is hilariously dragged along for the ride.

Brilliantly conceived and simply staged, Sylus’ campaign is strange and wonderful, and so is his campaign manager. Jeff incorporates every suggestion seamlessly into his story and the audience is with him every step of the way.

I've seen it twice. I'll see it again. It keeps getting better.

Sylus is supposed to be a villain we love to hate, but somehow, Jeff Ahern is able to make him the poster child for politicians in our country who work for the lobby and not the people who elect them. A funny and thought provoking combination of character, sketch and improv, the audience is an active participant in this one man show that made its debut this year at the Hollywood Fringe Festival. It's a one act just under an hour and I laughed and had a cathartic release at the same time in this countdown to election day 2020. Not too heavy, not to fluffy, Sylus 2020 is just right.
