The two-person, one-act play balances heavy raw moments with light-hearted banter that emphasizes the characters' quirks without weighing down the storyline...The play dives deeply into the more complicated aspects of forming and staying in a relationship, including recognizing and seizing your moment for love, and understanding each other's shortcomings. - RECOMMENDED

Director Richard Kilroy, who also served as set designer, does a superb job of invading the lives to two lonely people as they bare their souls to each other. His touch is light and fits the story to perfection.

Talley's Folly by Lanford Wilson, winner of Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the New York drama critics Circle award in 1980, has been brought to the Hudson Theatre in Hollywood by Bright Eyes Productions. The 90-minute play (as you will be instructed by character Matt Friedman, a Jewish man) is set in a dilapidated, but dignified Victorian Boathouse "folly" in Lebanon, Missouri in 1944, where he arrives to plead his love to Sally Talley, daughter of the locally excentric, but conservative Protestant, Talley family.
