We Need This Musical To Stop Us From Killing Ourselves follows Sarah, a struggling singer, and Mitchell, a failing actor, as they contemplate suicide. After some bargaining with their mutual therapist, the two find singular hope in a shared creative outlet in order to stay alive: putting on an original musical… with their therapist. Within only a few days, they create a show, but will they ever actually get to perform it? WNTMTSUFKO: The Musical is a dark comedy that celebrates friendships, musicals, and the bleakness of it all.

Now the funny thing is that the title, We Need This Musical to Stop Us From Killing Ourselves — the Musical! is slightly longer than the show. Still, Glasgow Lyman and Jeff Rosick have mixed up a silly, stylish, toe-tapping little songfest on the subject of suicide that succeeds in every way.

Despite the grim subject matter, the show cleverly unearths plenty of laughs. Rosick's music and lyrics are especially entertaining.- RECOMMENDED

At a full-stop 40 minutes, We Need This Musical To Stop Us From Killing Ourselves, playing at the Stephanie Feury Studio Theatre, is totally inventive. A home run for first time musical theater playwrights Glasgow Lyman and Jeff Rosick (also the composer) accompanied by a very lively, Adyn Wood (actress)...This maelstrom-musical-light is filled with catchy tunes and witty riffs, and delivers some pretty decent punch lines. Silly to the core and totally satisfying.
