What I liked
The show is going one-way then takes a hard, unexpected turn. The visual elements makes this more personal, authentic. The drama is heightened because of how it sneaks up on you after lots of levity.
Also, my father is Canadian so the Canada jokes hit hard for me.
What I didn't like
I wanted your father character to interact with the audience more. But that’s just nitpicking.
My overall impression
Marla Black is a dynamic, versatile performer- showcasing her comedic timing, wit, raw emotions, and beautiful sensitivity in this badass, brilliant one-woman show.
